Applications for the September 2010 testing window are now being accepted!
The paper exam application deadline is July 15th and the online exam application deadline is August 15th for the September 2010 testing window.
The 2010 Candidate Handbook is posted on our website, www.nbchpn.org.
The remaining testing windows are September and December.
Note: The fourth testing window for 2010 and thereafter is DECEMBER rather than November.
Applications that are received before the application “Start Date” or after the application “Deadlines” as posted below will be returned to the applicant unprocessed.
Applications are processed for the corresponding testing window ONLY as indicated in the chart below.

The 2011 APRN and RN HPAR applications and the 2012 Administrator HPAR application are now posted on our website.
AMP COMPUTER BASED TESTING (CBT)
ASSESSMENT CENTERS
Test site locations for 2010 CBT are available through the AMP website, www.goAMP.com, under the Assessment Services option. You must choose a category (Healthcare), choose a program (National Board for Certification of Hospice and Palliative Nurses), and choose an exam (APN, RN, LP/VN, NA or Administrator). Then choose the option of TEST SITE LOCATIONS.

CERTIFICATION AND RECERTIFICATION RESOURCES
Several resources can be utilized to help prepare for the NBCHPN® certification exams. Although there is not a specific resource or publication written specifically for the exams, the Candidate Handbook has a list of references for each exam. Our partner organizations have various resources that can be of assistance. HPNA has publications that can purchased online at www.hpna.org. The Alliance for Excellence has three (RN, LPN, NA) Self Assessment Exams available for purchase in which potential candidates can practice and review exam like questions. The SAEs can be accessed through a link on the NBCHPN® or HPNA websites. Certification Scholarships are also available through HPNF. NBCHPN gave our newsletter a "facelift" and went green! The Certification Newsletter is ONLY available electronically. No hardcopies of the newsletter will be produced. However each newsletter will continue to be posted on our website, www.nbchpn.org under the NEWSLETTER submenu in the RECOGNITION tab at the top of the home page. The newsletter is now more user and reader friendly. Be sure that NBCHPN has a CURRENT email address for you in our database so you don't miss out!
